Key Responsibilities of a Safety Officer

1.Developing Safety Policies and Procedures

Drawing up all encompassing safety policies suitable for individual company requirements.
Updating procedures regularly according to current regulations & industry practices. Conducting Risk Assessments
2. Risk Assessment

Detailed risk assessments to identify potential hazards.
Control measures implementation to reduce risks identified.
3.Training and Educating Employees

Offering programs on safety training so that employees understand how they should be safe.
Organizing workshops and drills for staff preparedness during emergency situations.
4.Conducting Safety Audits and Inspections

Regular workplace inspections for compliance with safety standards.
Document findings that may lead to corrective actions if necessary. 5.Incident Reporting and Investigation
5. Recording and investigation of workplace incidents/ accidents.

Analyzing incident reports to forestall future ones
6.Ensuring Regulatory Compliance

Enforcing latest health and safety legislations.
Ensuring local, national and international security laws are adhered to by an organization.
